Being active does not always have to be associated with hitting the gym, cycling or running. Last week I went to Manchester with friends to see the band Tool live. It was excellent. To see one of my favourite bands live is an incredible experience.
However, it is worth mentioning what happened before the concert. We went into the city centre, and completely without intending to, we managed to walk for almost 5h 20min which resulted in over 10km of walking, nearly 10k steps and over 2k calories. Awesome. All this with stops for coffee, taking photos and visiting the shops. No pressure.
I have to tell you that my mind didn’t even notice that I was on a workout at the same time during such a lengthy walk, and that’s because I was focused on something completely different. If you don’t want to get out of the house, sometimes it’s worth thinking about something else and your legs will take you forward for a few kilometres on their own. Just disconnect your brain from your legs the same way you disconnect your brain from your stomach when eating a meal.
